Job Overview

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at PDS Inc, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our manufacturing processes and technologies. Your expertise will guide the development and implementation of innovative solutions in our production environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technology Evaluation: Assess and advance new technologies in manufacturing engineering and production processes.
  • Design Coordination: Collaborate with various engineering teams to ensure effective Design for Manufacturing practices.
  • Manufacturing Procedures: Define manufacturing processes, prepare tooling lists, and develop detailed operation sheets for complex machined components.
  • Continuous Improvement: Engage in hands-on support for ongoing improvements in existing production workflows.
  • Time Standards Management: Establish and update time standards for setup, operation, and production efficiency.
  • Cost Estimation: Provide accurate cost assessments for new projects and process enhancements.
  • Leadership in Equipment Evaluation: Lead efforts in evaluating and implementing new manufacturing equipment.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, technicians, and suppliers to resolve process challenges and mentor team members.
  • Project Leadership: Take on project leadership roles as assigned by management.
  • Support Automated Cells: Drive stability in automated manufacturing cells to minimize labor and variability.
  • Travel Requirements: Occasional travel may be necessary for project needs.
Qualifications
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or Technology. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in manufacturing engineering with a focus on milled parts.
  • Machining Expertise: At least 5 years of hands-on machining experience.
  • Programming Skills: Proficient in CAD/CAM CNC programming, particularly with Siemens NX, and fluent in G&M Code.
  • Tooling Knowledge: Strong understanding of cutting tools and workholding solutions.
  • Process Efficiency: Ability to create efficient CNC programs for complex components.
  • Innovative Mindset: A proactive approach to advancing methodologies and technologies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent ability to communicate and document effectively.
  • Guidance Capability: Experience in mentoring other engineers.
  • Advanced Systems Development: Background in developing automated manufacturing systems.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Familiarity with Lean principles and leadership in driving change.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in MS Office applications.
  • Blueprint Proficiency: Experience in reading blueprints and understanding GD&T.
  • 5-Axis Machining: Required experience in programming 5-Axis machining centers.
  • Aerospace Materials: Experience in machining various aerospace materials.
