Your Role

Cordogan Clark is seeking a Senior Project Architect to enhance our team. This full-time position is tailored for a qualified architect, either licensed or in the process of obtaining licensure, with a minimum of 10 years of comprehensive experience in the planning and design of public safety, emergency operations, justice, and civic facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, exceptional communication skills, and a collaborative spirit, actively engaging with all project stakeholders in our award-winning firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Master planning, space programming, and facility planning support.
  • Development of design concepts and detailed construction documents.
  • Coordination of design components with engineers and consultants.
  • Clarification of design intent during bidding and negotiation phases.
  • Support throughout the construction phase, including review of submittals and resolution of conflicts.
  • Facilitate communication between the design team, contractors, utility companies, and regulatory authorities.

This role is hands-on, requiring the ability to create and present design concepts while assisting in the production of high-quality construction documents for competitive bidding. Ongoing project support is essential throughout the bidding and construction phases, and flexibility to meet with clients outside standard business hours is often necessary. Occasional travel may be required to client locations or job sites.

Specifics of Your Role

  • Assist Senior Managing Architects in all project development phases.
  • Collaborate with clients, architectural staff, engineers, and consultants to develop innovative design solutions that align with project goals and budgets.
  • Ensure quality control and assurance throughout schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
  • Guide administrative and technical project efforts for efficient execution.
  • Conduct on-site construction administration and inspections to ensure work quality.
  • Effectively interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Accredited degree in Architecture with a focus on licensure.
  • 10+ years of relevant architectural experience, particularly in complex public safety projects.
  • Proficiency in BIM 360/Revit design software.
  • Strong understanding of various computer applications used in professional design environments, including Microsoft 365, Adobe Suite, Bluebeam, and familiarity with 3D design tools like SketchUp, Lumion, and Enscape.
  • A robust work ethic and commitment to exceeding client expectations.
