About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our team at Caterpillar. As a Senior Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development of high-value, innovative, and efficient work tool designs for our Medium Wheel Loader (MWL) platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop control and product development responsibility for existing and new MWL bucket, fork, and material handling arm portfolios.
  • Support downstream global partners and resolve engineering design issues for the end customer.
  • Lead and collaborate across functional groups in the design, development, and maintenance of MWL/heavy equipment structural systems.
  • Develop work tools designs for MWL platforms, ensuring design meets technical, financial, and timeline requirements.
  • Support the team through machine and system level virtual product development simulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Agricultural, Aerospace, Chemical, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related field.
  • 6 years of engineering experience, including product development or a related occupation.
  • Alternatively, a master's degree in a related field and 3 years of engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in Creo 3D modeling and Creo Simulate software packages.
  • Strong working knowledge of detailed fabricated structures design and development, including kinematic analysis, measured data analysis, and finite element analysis (FEA).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Creo and Creo Simulate or similar CAE package.
  • Fabricated structures design and analysis experience.
  • Bill of Material (BoM) structures and associated engineering releasing systems experience.
