Position Summary:
As a NPD Project Engineer II, you will play a crucial role in facilitating product realization through effective collaboration across various teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete assigned tasks and assist team members to ensure timely project completion.
  • Help develop project schedules and coordinate project management activities.
  • Assist in preparing project budgets and managing resources effectively.
  • Support the completion of Product Realization Stage Gate Requirements.
  • Manage system-level design requirements for Medium Voltage switchgear, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Create engineering test plans for designated design areas.
  • Construct and test prototype components or assemblies as necessary.
  • Perform pre-test calculations and review test data against standards.
  • Conduct engineering analysis for new products and their components.
  • Carry out troubleshooting and root cause analysis for both new and existing products.
  • Document processes, material requirements, test results, and project activities as needed.
  • Interface with purchasing and vendors for component selection and approval.
  • Provide engineering support to Sales/Marketing and Manufacturing for new and existing products.
  • Guide Associate Engineers, Designers, and Technicians as required.
  • Maintain CAD databases and libraries following established procedures.
  • Review engineering drawings prior to manufacturing release and provide final approval.
  • Ensure that selected parts and processes align with project and company objectives for cost efficiency and reliability.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with 3D parametric modeling.
  • Proven track record on complex technical projects with a willingness to tackle new challenges.
  • Familiarity with the new product development Stage Gate Process.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of preparing presentations and leading project meetings.

Technical Knowledge:
  • Understanding of motor operators, current and voltage sensing, grounding impacts, and power systems.
  • Proficient in using small hand and power tools.
  • Able to produce technical documents, including test reports and engineering standards.
  • Capable of interpreting technical standards.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with DFMEA is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with ProE/Creo and Finite Element Analysis is a plus.
  • Knowledge of medium/high voltage electrical power systems.
  • A history of creativity, innovation, and initiative is preferred.
