Role Summary:

  • Intellectt Inc is seeking a skilled engineer to spearhead the design and development of hydraulic sealing solutions and their associated components, including piston seals, rod seals, wiper seals, and cylinder seal kits.
  • The ideal candidate will actively collaborate with the global product development team to deliver exceptional sealing solutions tailored to meet customer specifications.
  • This role necessitates a blend of technical expertise, commercial acumen, and project leadership capabilities to effectively define application and component specifications, formulate project timelines, compile design documentation, and coordinate validation strategies with suppliers or internal teams.
  • Responsibilities may also encompass leading team discussions, preparing technical documentation, and performing inspections to ensure designs align with customer expectations, risks are addressed, and technical insights are systematically recorded and shared during design evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the design of hydraulic sealing products across the organization, ensuring alignment with customer expectations regarding product cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Contribute to various New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives, New Technology Integration (NTI) projects, and efforts aimed at enhancing product cost and quality.
  • Facilitate Concept and Detailed Design Reviews in collaboration with global engineering teams.
  • Work closely with global and regional procurement and manufacturing teams to support product velocity, quality, and cost objectives, conduct supplier audits, assess sourcing options, and complete validation tasks.
  • Address field failures, warranty claims, and manufacturing challenges by conducting parts analysis and preparing technical reports as necessary.
  • Support design control processes through detailed drawing releases, ongoing product and process development, and coordination with relevant teams on seal kit solutions.
  • Align hydraulic sealing initiatives across various product lines, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.

Qualifications:

  • Education - Bachelor's degree or higher in an accredited engineering discipline (preferably in Polymer or Chemical Engineering).
  • Experience - Minimum of 2 years in the polymer industry.
  • Advanced degree (Master's or equivalent) in an accredited engineering program is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in component performance, cost, and quality optimization.
  • Proficiency in project management, tolerance analysis, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to effectively develop and manage project plans from initial concept through to production.
  • Strong communication skills for conveying technical information to team members and process partners.
  • Knowledge of applications related to mining and construction equipment.
  • Familiarity with polymer suppliers and manufacturing methodologies.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects concurrently while making informed prioritization decisions.
  • A sense of urgency balanced with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Flexibility in work hours to accommodate collaboration with global product development teams.
