Director of Risk Management and Quality Initiatives

About This Opportunity
Hospital for Special Surgery is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Director of Risk Management and Quality Initiatives to join our team. This is a key leadership position that requires expertise in risk management, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to minimize liability exposure and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Conduct thorough investigations of adverse events, evaluating liability exposure and identifying opportunities for quality improvement.
- Manage the risk management database, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to regulatory agencies.
- Provide education and training to hospital employees on risk management best practices, informed consent, documentation, and patient behavior.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address risk management implications and develop solutions to improve patient safety.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, using data-driven insights to inform decision-making and drive positive change.
- Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and industry best practices, ensuring the hospital remains compliant and ahead of the curve.
Qualifications
- RN, PA, or similar clinical degree.
- 5+ years of experience in hospital risk management, quality improvement, or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present to large and small groups.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of organizational and time management skills.
What We Offer
- A competitive salary range of $170,000 - $195,000 per year.
