Position Summary

The Healthy Families Home Visiting Family Support Specialist (FSS) plays a vital role in establishing trusting relationships with families, utilizing the Healthy Families America model. The FSS will conduct home visits to assist families in creating positive home environments, fostering strong parent-child connections, and promoting overall family well-being. Through an infant mental health framework, the FSS will employ reflective strategies to enhance parenting skills, facilitate effective problem-solving, and alleviate family stress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Home Visiting:
    • Engage families in voluntary services through trust-building strategies.
    • Conduct initial enrollment visits and complete necessary assessments.
    • Schedule and carry out regular home visits in line with KCSL policies.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in providing services to children and families
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed

Preferred:

  • Infant Mental Health Endorsement
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
