Role Summary
The Family Support Specialist (FSS) is tasked with cultivating trusting relationships with families, guided by the Healthy Families America framework. The FSS will conduct home visits to assist families in creating nurturing environments, fostering secure attachments between parents and children, and promoting overall family well-being. By employing an infant mental health perspective, the FSS will utilize reflective practices to enhance parent-child interactions, improve parenting techniques, and alleviate family stress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Home Visits:
    • Engage families in voluntary services through trust-building strategies.
    • Conduct initial enrollment visits and complete the FROG assessment.
    • Schedule and execute regular home visits in line with KCSL Healthy Families protocols.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in providing services to children and families.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries while offering support.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferred:

  • Infant Mental Health Endorsement.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
