Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Desktop Support Specialist to join our team at HCL Technologies. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing top-notch technical support to our employees, ensuring that their desktop and laptop issues are resolved efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with Windows and Macintosh desktops and laptops, excluding security patches and updates.
  • Install and configure software, load images, and disconnect and reconnect desktops and peripherals as needed.
  • Communicate with customers at all levels, from technical to non-technical, to provide issue resolution and technical guidance.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on computer hardware and software, and provide maintenance services for conference room technical systems.
  • Service tasks from an assigned task queue, and provide support for items such as LCDs, projectors, and video conferencing systems.
  • Perform data migrations in a Windows and Mac environment, and monitor laptop pick-up audits to ensure timely delivery.
  • Accurately triage tickets to necessary teams, and assist with technical onboarding of new hires.
Requirements
  • 2-3 years of experience in a relevant field, such as technical support or IT service management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and empathetically with customers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of Service Now or similar ticket-tracking/request system workflow tool is preferred.
