Clinical Supervisor

As a Clinical Supervisor for the Host Program at Downtown Emergency Service Center (DESC), you will play a critical role in overseeing the acceptance and assignment of referrals to the program. In collaboration with the HOST Project Manager and Senior Program Manager, you will ensure the successful transition of consumers to ongoing care. This position requires a strong clinical background, excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with staff from diverse backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in planning, implementation, and coordination of all HOST services and other relevant services at the agency.
- Screen and assess referrals to the HOST Program for eligibility and provide coordination of other HOST staff involved in screening and initial engagement efforts.
- Coordinate and participate in psychiatric consultations, clinical supervision meetings, program meetings, and in-service training of mental health program staff.
- Assess staff members supervised for strengths and training needs, providing regular supervision, clinical consultation, performance feedback, support, and assurance of needed training.
- Facilitate team meetings to promote team cohesion and effective service delivery.
- Coordinate and schedule all aspects of HOST services, including staff time sheets and payroll submissions.
- Review team clinical documentation to ensure compliance with agency, state, and county clinical accountability policies and procedures.
- Provide individual supervision and consultation for assigned team members.
- Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with human service organizations to support clients.
- Provide clinical outreach and case management services to a partial caseload.
- Collaborate with non-mental health DESC staff to ensure continuity of care for clients using other DESC services.
- Assist in coordination of services and activities spanning the mental health department and other DESC programs.
- Ensure the gathering of accurate service and program data, assisting with report writing in compliance with HOST/PATH/City of Seattle contracts.
- Eligible for a Licensed AAC credential or any other superseding credential meeting RCW requirements to act as a Mental Health Professional.
- Master's degree in social work, psychology, or a relevant behavioral science, or a Bachelor of Nursing degree with a specialty in mental health.
- One or more years of experience in community-based behavioral health services.
- Experience working with adults experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and/or substance use disorders.
- Ability to drive an agency or personal vehicle for agency-related business, with a current Washington State driver's license and insurable driving record.
- Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide sound clinical and administrative supervision.
- Interest or experience in working with clients who are difficult to engage and refer to traditional programs.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with staff from diverse backgrounds.
- Subscription to the philosophy of cooperation and continuity across programs, with consideration and respect for clients.
