The Clinical Supervisor plays a vital role in the management of clinical and operational activities at Providence St. Joseph Health. This position is accountable for assisting the Manager in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.

Key responsibilities include mentoring and developing clinical and non-clinical staff, participating in the establishment and enforcement of standards of patient care and nursing practice, and collaborating with the STOC leadership to ensure the development and competency of clinical staff.

The Clinical Supervisor also oversees the general operations of the STOC, coordinates staffing and scheduling, and communicates effectively with nursing staff, providers, and hospital leadership.

Key skills required for this position include the ability to communicate effectively, function in crisis/urgent situations, and follow-up with department managers and/or Directors and staff.

This position is accountable for patient flow, capacity, quality, and experience of nursing services at the facility level in support of the Swedish Medical Center system and regional goals.

Leadership: Mentors staff, promotes professional practice, monitors compliance with standards of care, and handles conflict resolution.

Human Resources: Participates in staff hiring, development, and motivation, and promotes employee recognition.

Communication: Serves as a liaison between nursing staff, providers, and hospital leadership, and uses proactive problem-solving to ensure timely admission and placement of patients.
