Fleet Jobs is looking for a seasoned leader with relevant expertise to join our team of transportation and logistics professionals. We are in search of a candidate to oversee drivers at one of our operational sites.

Position Overview:

The Transportation Operations Supervisor will lead teams in a dynamic operational environment, consistently exceeding established goals while demonstrating a commitment to customer satisfaction and a dedication to excellence and innovation. You will develop strategic plans and ensure their successful execution while effectively managing resources to achieve operational excellence and meet financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership
  • Ensure all supervisors and team members are well-trained and understand how their roles contribute to customer objectives.
  • Recruit, hire, train, develop, and retain high-quality associates.
  • Foster effective two-way communication that informs, motivates, and recognizes excellence among team members.
  • Build strong relationships with associates, customers, and supporting departments.

Operational Excellence
  • Meet or exceed all customer performance metrics and objectives.
  • Engage daily with local customers to understand their needs.
  • Lead initiatives to identify operational improvements in areas such as route optimization and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with other operational sites to share best practices and leverage resources.

Financial Management
  • Develop and implement annual financial and operational plans.
  • Lead operations with integrity to meet or exceed business targets.
  • Identify and address issues with operational metrics and financial performance promptly.
  • Ensure timely and accurate customer billing and payroll processes.

Safety Culture
  • Promote a culture of safety through personal example.
  • Develop and assess continuous improvement plans to reduce accidents and injuries.
  • Ensure all associates understand their roles in maintaining a safe workplace.
  • Proactively identify and rectify unsafe conditions and behaviors.

Customer Experience and Growth
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and challenge existing processes.
  • Track and record value delivered to customers.
  • Seize profitable business opportunities for both customers and Fleet Jobs.
  • Utilize metrics to monitor and enhance customer efficiencies.

Fleet Management
  • Enhance fleet utilization, maintenance availability, and fuel efficiency.
  • Contribute to equipment specifications during start-up and renewal phases.
  • Build strong relationships with local vendors and partners.
  • Complete additional projects and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • 4 - 6 years of relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of managerial or supervisory experience in regulated positions.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Ability to build rapport with associates and customers at all levels.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute financial plans.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary and work the required schedule.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to read, communicate, analyze information, and follow instructions.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and sitting; ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and depth perception.
