Position Overview:
Objective TRANSPORTATION RESEARCH CENTER INC. is in search of a research engineer to join the crashworthiness division, dedicated to enhancing and refining testing methodologies for assessing automotive safety. This area of research involves innovative vehicle design, safety enhancements, and tools aimed at improving occupant protection. The focus is on the dynamics and mechanics of vehicles, their occupants, and other road users, as well as safeguarding individuals during collision incidents. The selected research engineer will oversee projects that may include creating testing protocols to assess injury risks in accidents involving passenger cars, motorcycles, or other at-risk road users; investigating the evaluation of crash test dummies and their components; and formulating testing procedures related to vehicle structural integrity and restraint systems for various crash scenarios, including frontal, rear, side, and rollover impacts, along with child restraint systems.
Key Responsibilities* Develop, assess, and implement analytical methods, component and/or full-scale vehicle evaluations to analyze occupant biomechanics and safetyApplication of mechanics and dynamics principles to comprehend human injury and occupant safety, including adherence to SAE J211Create innovative testing methods for vehicle safety concerning occupants and other road users, alongside protective gear such as helmetsEngage in thorough evaluations of current experimental testing protocolsProvide technical guidance and/or direct participation in test development, setup, execution, data collection, troubleshooting, analysis, and reporting.

Ensure precise and clear communication regarding the status and outcomes of the aforementioned activities; guarantee that results align with or surpass customer quality standardsEffectively manage multiple priorities, organize tasks, and adhere to deadlinesFunction independently and collaboratively within a team environment focused on customer-driven objectives and milestones*TRANSPORTATION RESEARCH CENTER INC.
