Position Overview:

This role requires an onsite presence for the initial training period, transitioning to a hybrid work model with two days allocated for remote work.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting with 3-5 years of experience in the Financial Services sector or a related field.
  • Proficient technical and analytical skills in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Advanced Excel capabilities, including V-Lookup and Pivot Tables.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of financial principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Experience Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the financial or credit union industry.
  • Ability to operate under Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Key Competencies:

  • Self-motivated individual capable of working independently.
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications (Word/Excel).

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the ongoing Accounting Operations of the Credit Union.
  • Process and document daily member transactions across various interfaces, reconcile activities, and identify variances.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting team and liaise with the Federal Reserve Bank and other financial institutions.
  • Work closely with Analysts and Senior Accountants to provide backup and cross-train on essential responsibilities.

Daily Tasks Include:

  • Manage share draft/check clearing processes.
  • Assist with Lockbox transaction processing.
  • Monitor and process Corporate Credit Union deposits.
  • Conduct Corporate Credit Union research and make necessary adjustments.
  • Support both domestic and international wire transactions.
  • Assist with shared branching reconciliations.
  • Execute transactional processing as required.
  • Perform routine reconciliations to support audits.
  • Identify variances, investigate causes, and adjust entries as necessary.
  • Provide assistance to the accounting team on various projects and reconciliations.
