Position Summary

The Manufacturing Financial Manager will oversee all financial operations within the plant, ensuring that accounting practices align with corporate policies and regulatory standards. This role is crucial for maintaining financial integrity and supporting operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete financial accounting functions, including general and cost accounting, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
  • Lead the monthly financial closing process, including the preparation of journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Enhance and optimize accounting systems and processes, particularly those related to billing, while establishing and maintaining internal controls.
  • Supervise accounting staff to ensure efficient invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory costing, and payroll operations.
  • Direct the Financial Planning process, including the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
  • Oversee local audits, interfacing with external auditors and ensuring compliance with all financial regulations.
  • Prepare and manage the Financial Closing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in reporting.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to ensure completeness and accuracy of all financial transactions and reports.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate procedures and local statutory requirements.
  • Analyze production costs and work with Operations and Engineering to identify root causes of variances and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain standard costs for materials and labor/overhead.
  • Conduct inventory valuation assessments and recommend necessary adjustments.
  • Perform variance analysis against forecasts on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Manage capital expenditure plans and oversee the capital appropriation request process.
  • Optimize Net Working Capital, focusing on accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory management.
  • Facilitate monthly and rolling forecasts.
  • Conduct cost modeling and scenario analyses for strategic initiatives and business improvement projects.
  • Coordinate special projects and ad hoc analyses to support operational excellence and profitability.
  • Recommend and implement strategies to enhance productivity, increase efficiencies, and reduce costs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing setting with expertise in standard and actual costing methods.
  • Proficient in ERP systems (Syteline preferred) and Business Intelligence tools.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, including pivot tables and data analysis.
  • Strong background in business and management accounting, complemented by data mining and analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proven experience in financial planning and analysis, including full P&L and Balance Sheet reporting.
  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Preferred experience in a rapidly growing environment.
