Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team at Jobot. As a key player in our financial operations, you will be responsible for maintaining the financial health of our organization, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and accurately recording costs and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements, ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures.
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including month-end and year-end processes, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and utilities.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data, producing financial reports or statements as needed.
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits.
  • Provide recommendations to improve systems and financial performance.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Liaise with our Financial Manager and Accounting Manager to improve financial procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of proven experience as a financial controller, accounting supervisor, chief, or senior accountant.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with expertise in Microsoft Excel (creating spreadsheets and using advanced formulas).
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Familiarity with financial accounting statements.
  • Tech-savvy and experience with accounting software, such as FreshBooks and Zoho.
  • Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information.
  • Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations.
