Job Title: Front Desk Manager/Chief Purser

Job Summary:

The Front Desk Manager/Chief Purser is responsible for efficiently managing financial, revenue, and guest administration service issues onboard and carrying them out in a manner consistent with the company's high standard of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interact with all Front Office, Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, Deck, and Engineering departments as well as all guests in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Prepare daily and weekly financial reports onboard vessel.
  • Manage, train, and coach pursers and 1st purser onboard vessel.
  • Responsible for scheduling and crew berthing of Pursers office.
  • Work with Microsoft Office, POS, and PMS systems.
  • Responsible for all banks onboard vessel.
  • Responsible for all guests and crew accounts.
  • Perform payroll functions for crew.
  • Ensure proper vessel embarkation and debarkation functions are performed.
  • Coordinate provision needs for vessel at select ports of call.
  • Ensure behavior and performance supports the company's Mission; promotes year-round success of system.
  • Holds all employees and leaders equally accountable to meet technical, employee, and leader standards.
  • Solicits feedback; takes action to continuously improve success of team.
  • Maintain the highest standards of good marine practice and professionalism.
  • Participate and ensure participation of all USCG mandated drills and emergency procedures as directed.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Education: HS Diploma or Equivalent Required, Bachelors Degree in related field required.
  • Professional Certification(s) or License: Valid Drivers License, Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) if applicable, and/or ability to obtain and maintain.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be fluent in English, Ability to interact with individuals at all levels in a pleasant and professional manner, Proficiency with MS Office applications and POS systems, Ability to train and supervise employees, Logically and independently plan, organize, and complete work assignments.
  • Experience: At least five to seven years of experience in position with similar duties and responsibilities, Cruise industry experience preferred.
