Role Overview:

As a vital member of the store management team, you will collaborate closely with the Store Manager in this prominent flagship location to achieve company growth and development objectives through exemplary customer service. You will ensure that the store's visual presentation is consistently maintained through effective housekeeping, visual merchandising, and grooming standards.

Your strong leadership skills will inspire your team of sales and technical staff to achieve desired outcomes through motivational coaching and personal development. You will identify growth opportunities within the team and provide constructive feedback for individual development. Leading by example, you will ensure that service levels exceed customer expectations by embodying the brand's customer journey and facilitating learning through Brompton Academy modules.

You will assist the Store Manager with the recruitment and onboarding processes for new employees, including conducting probationary reviews. Additionally, you will analyze sales data to support the Store Manager in preparing weekly and monthly trade reports, monitoring store KPIs, and motivating the team to meet targets. You will also ensure optimal store performance by maintaining stock replenishment in accordance with company directives and identifying potential stock opportunities and risks.

Your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with brand standard operating procedures, assisting with monthly stock counts, and contributing to the stock loss action plan as necessary.

With a proactive and ambitious approach, you will recognize development opportunities and confidently implement initiatives with the Store Manager's support. You will also help plan community events, including social media campaigns, in-store events, and maintenance classes.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Experience:

  • Lead by example and develop team members to deliver exceptional customer experiences, ensuring the brand's customer journey is consistently realized.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Brompton products and ensure effective communication of brand updates during daily briefings.
  • Support new product launches through team training to enhance selling techniques within the customer journey.
  • Assist in building a community events calendar to facilitate regular ride-outs, in-store events, and maintenance classes to foster customer loyalty.
  • Ensure the store environment aligns with brand expectations, including visual merchandising, cleanliness, and team presentation standards.
  • Promote the store through brand communication channels to enhance customer engagement and advocacy.

People Management:

  • Motivate the team to consistently deliver the brand customer journey through coaching and recognizing success.
  • Oversee the recruitment and induction process for Sales Assistants, supporting their development during the probationary review period.
  • Identify training needs and ensure all team members complete necessary training modules.
  • Ensure effective staff deployment in response to changing trade patterns.
  • Manage payroll and attendance, including holiday leave as needed.
  • Empower the team to handle customer complaints professionally, resolving issues in-store when possible.

Commercial Performance and Reporting:

  • Encourage the team to achieve store KPIs.
  • Assist in preparing weekly and monthly reports, as well as ad hoc reporting as required.
  • Stay informed about competitor activities in the local area and communicate insights to the Store Manager.
  • Report any operational or commercial issues to the Store Manager as appropriate.

Store Operations:

  • Manage all aspects of store security in accordance with company policies, including staff, cash, stock, IT, and facilities.
  • Place stock replenishment orders as needed to maintain performance and layout in line with company directives.
  • Identify stock opportunities and risks to communicate to the Store Manager.
  • Support the planning and execution of monthly and year-end stock counts, ensuring accurate reporting.
