Position Overview:
The Retail Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting the Store Manager to optimize store performance, meet sales targets, and enhance profitability. This position involves recruiting, mentoring, and developing team members to serve as effective selling and style advisors. In the absence of the Store Manager and Co-Manager, the Retail Operations Supervisor assumes the responsibilities of the Manager on Duty.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Performance and Leadership
- Lead efforts to achieve both individual and store sales goals.
- Analyze store performance metrics and implement strategies for improvement.
- Communicate sales objectives to associates and motivate them to excel.
- Utilize store reports to effectively coach team members and prioritize tasks.
- Foster customer loyalty by guiding associates to build meaningful connections with customers.
- Address customer service issues promptly to ensure a positive shopping experience.
Team Development
- Encourage a collaborative and energetic store environment.
- Serve as a role model for exceptional customer service and selling techniques.
- Promote continuous learning and skill development among associates.
- Support the Store Manager in recruiting talent aligned with J.Jill's culture.
Visual Merchandising and Operational Excellence
- Assist in planning and executing visual merchandising strategies.
- Maintain high visual standards throughout the store.
- Manage inventory levels and ensure product availability on the sales floor.
- Participate in operational functions, including policy implementation and store organization.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in women's specialty retail, with a preference for management experience.
- Proficiency in Point of Sale systems and general office software.
- Strong leadership, training, and team-building capabilities.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a proven sales track record.
- Effective communication and analytical skills.
- Strong merchandising and styling abilities.
