General Purpose:
The Retail Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in enhancing store performance and customer satisfaction. This position is responsible for the effective management of retail operations in the absence of the Store Manager, ensuring that all activities align with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain operational hours and ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Uphold high standards of store cleanliness and organization.
- Regularly meet performance benchmarks and objectives.
- Manage and reduce operational costs effectively.
- Oversee cash management and ensure sufficient funds for daily transactions.
- Guarantee a safe environment for both customers and staff.
- Foster excellent customer relations by training staff to engage positively with patrons.
- Assist in the recruitment and training of new employees.
- Support the Store Manager in evaluating employee performance.
- Enforce company policies and procedures related to personnel and loss prevention.
- Address and resolve employee concerns and conflicts.
- Ensure accurate recording of employee work hours.
- Facilitate the processing, pricing, and display of merchandise to optimize sales.
- Propose strategies to enhance sales and operational efficiency.
- Expand the local donor network.
- Implement sound cash-handling practices in accordance with company guidelines.
- Prepare and submit various financial reports as required.
- Conduct regular employee meetings to address new initiatives and challenges.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels of merchandise.
- Organize the back-room area to maximize productivity.
- Ensure compliance with security protocols among staff.
- Conduct regular checks to ensure the safety of store assets.
- Prepare banking documents and reconcile financial reports.
- Manage payroll reconciliation in the absence of the Store Manager.
Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will have some college education, with a high school diploma or GED required. A minimum of two years of supervisory experience and two years of retail experience is essential. Experience in training and supervising staff in all facets of retail operations is highly valued.
Skills Required:
Successful candidates will demonstrate exceptional organizational abilities, proficiency in numerical calculations, and a solid understanding of computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office.
Work Environment:
This position primarily operates indoors, where donated items may occasionally be dusty or soiled. Adherence to safety protocols and the use of Personal Protective Equipment may be necessary.
