About the Role

The Material Coordinator will play a pivotal part in a construction project team to ensure that the right materials are ordered and delivered to the job site on time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the project team and project bill of materials to order materials through a procurement system.
  • Verify that ordered materials meet company specifications.
  • Oversee the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials.
  • Ensure that all necessary documentation is completed and filed upon receipt of materials.
  • Retrieve and deliver requested materials to the requester or facilitate logistics as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of material status.
  • Work with the construction team to schedule deliveries and manage delays to ensure compliance with material requests.
  • Prepare reports for cost accounts and procurement to ensure compliance with account payable requirements.
  • Collaborate with various departments to manage the efficient flow of materials.
  • Prepare reports for all materials and assist with managing transportation of materials.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of piping and/or instrumentation materials.
  • Understanding of project management principles and practices.
  • Ability to support multiple project managers/project teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare written communications on technical and non-technical matters for various levels of management.
  • Ability to effectively interact with various departments to maintain open lines of communication.
  • Experience working with natural gas pipeline projects is preferred.
  • 1-5 years of experience preferred.
  • SAP experience highly desirable.
  • Excellent Excel skills required.
  • Driver's License required.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
