JobsRUs is looking for a Procurement Specialist to support our client in the industry.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Procurement Specialist will leverage their expertise to manage a range of purchasing activities, including pricing strategies, negotiating terms, securing volume discounts, establishing long-term contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services from suppliers.

This role requires adherence to governmental regulations and alignment with organizational objectives throughout the procurement process.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Analyze MRP (SAP) order action messages, maintain schedules, and resolve issues to ensure timely shipments.
  2. Generate work orders and issue purchase orders based on MRP (SAP) insights.
  3. Negotiate pricing and delivery schedules that align with production needs.
  4. Process changes and reschedules necessary to meet production goals.
  5. Ensure customer satisfaction through on-time delivery of quality products.
  6. Manage special requests and expedite orders as needed.
  7. Identify potential delays and strategize recovery plans.
  8. Prioritize material handling based on production schedules and workload.

This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.


Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years in production control, including material and inventory management within a defense or aerospace context.

Skills and Competencies:

The candidate should demonstrate:

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MRP (SAP) systems.
  • General knowledge of machine shop practices.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Word, Excel, and computerized MRP systems.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing company needs.

Environmental & Physical Requirements:

This role is primarily office-based, requiring the ability to sit for extended periods, hear phone communications, and enter data on a computer. There may be occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds.

Work may also involve a warehouse environment, necessitating the ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
