Position Overview:

As a vital member of our healthcare facility, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring they receive a warm welcome and exceptional service. In the role of a Patient Service Specialist, you will oversee both patient interactions and administrative duties, playing a crucial role in enhancing the overall patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and assist patients upon arrival, ensuring a smooth registration process and providing essential information about their visit.
  • Manage appointment scheduling, both in-person and via phone, to accommodate patient needs effectively.
  • Maintain regular communication with various stakeholders, including legal representatives, insurance providers, and internal teams.
  • Handle patient payments, process co-pays, and manage insurance verifications and authorizations.
  • Offer patients relevant details regarding their upcoming appointments during the checkout process.
  • Address inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, and colleagues promptly and professionally.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of experience in scheduling.
  • One year of experience in a front desk role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of experience in a medical office setting.
  • Experience with insurance verification processes.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Manual dexterity for typing and data entry tasks.
  • Capability to lift items up to 25 lbs safely.
  • Visual acuity to maintain accurate records and recognize individuals.
  • Effective communication skills to understand and provide directions.
