Position Overview: The role of a Community Safety Volunteer Officer involves dedicating time and effort to enhance public safety and community well-being. This position is essential for individuals looking to contribute positively to their community while gaining valuable experience in law enforcement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional service to the community, ensuring all interactions reflect the highest ethical standards.
  • Respond to various calls for assistance, including emergencies and incidents, while offering support and information to the public.
  • Engage in community-based policing, fostering collaboration and problem-solving initiatives.
  • Administer first aid and gather statements from witnesses, victims, and suspects to document incidents accurately.
  • Apprehend suspects using safe and effective techniques, including physical restraint and self-defense when necessary.
  • Enforce traffic regulations, direct vehicular flow, and conduct investigations at accident scenes.
  • Handle juvenile matters with care, ensuring appropriate referrals to relevant authorities.
  • Execute legal processes such as serving subpoenas and warrants, and prepare for court appearances as required.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of relevant coursework in communication or law enforcement is advantageous.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities based on established policies.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Proficient in written communication, capable of producing clear and detailed reports.

  • Must demonstrate good moral character with no disqualifying convictions.
