About the Role

The US Navy is seeking a highly skilled Logistics Manager to join our team. As a Supply Corps Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success and safety of our missions by managing the procurement, storage, and distribution of supplies and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze demand for supplies and forecast future needs to optimize inventory management
  • Ensure timely receipt of parts and equipment for ship maintenance and repairs
  • Oversee retail services, logistics, and culinary operations to meet the needs of our personnel
  • Manage the inspection, shipping, handling, and packaging of supplies and equipment
  • Direct personnel responsible for receiving inventory and issuing supplies and equipment
  • Evaluate bids and proposals from potential suppliers to ensure best value
  • Maintain budgets and optimize resource allocation
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce costs
  • Oversee the handling of special items such as medicine and explosives
Work Environment

As a Logistics Manager with the US Navy, you will work in a dynamic and challenging environment that requires strong leadership and problem-solving skills. You will have the opportunity to work in offices, shore-based warehouses, air cargo terminals, and aboard ships and submarines.

Training and Advancement

As a Supply Corps Officer, you will receive comprehensive training in inventory management, financial management, procurement, and warehouse management. You will also have opportunities for advanced training and professional development to enhance your skills and advance your career.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you must be a US citizen, be qualified for sea duty, and be willing to serve worldwide. A degree from a four-year college or university is required, and a graduate degree is preferred. You must also be able to pass a background check and meet the physical and mental demands of the role.

Part-Time Opportunities

The US Navy offers part-time opportunities for Logistics Managers to serve in the Navy Reserve. As a Reserve Sailor, you will have the flexibility to balance your civilian career with your military service. You will be required to attend monthly drilling and annual training, and you will have the opportunity to serve anywhere in the world.
