JOB SUMMARY
As a Foot and Ankle Specialist, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating conditions related to the feet, ankles, and lower extremities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver comprehensive medical care to patients, ensuring high-quality service.
  • Conduct thorough examinations of patients' lower limbs to identify diseases, injuries, or conditions.
  • Manage sports-related injuries affecting the feet and legs.
  • Prescribe orthotic devices and medications for pain management.
  • Provide guidance on proper foot care and therapeutic methods.
  • Stabilize and refer patients requiring urgent care, regardless of their usual provider.
  • Assist in managing patient care when other providers are unavailable due to emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with medical standards and requirements.
  • Support the collection of lab specimens when necessary.
  • Complete assigned administrative tasks as directed by the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Ensure compliance with medical licensing and certification requirements.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation as established by the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Adhere to all office policies and procedures.
  • Engage in quality assurance initiatives and assist with audits as needed.
  • Communicate any operational issues to administration promptly.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Doctorate in podiatric medicine.
  • Experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of contemporary surgical and therapeutic practices.
  • Board certification or eligibility in the specialty.
  • Valid license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Understanding of physical therapy techniques.
  • Demonstrated patience and empathy in patient interactions.
  • Familiarity with foot and genetic abnormalities.
  • Advanced knowledge of medical principles and diagnostic procedures.
  • Ability to maintain current medical licenses and certifications.
  • Strong analytical skills for diagnosing conditions based on symptoms and test results.
  • Excellent communication skills for clear interactions with patients and families.
  • Ability to stay updated on new medical techniques and discoveries.
  • Practice sound medical judgment while adhering to ethical standards.
  • Capability to manage a patient load efficiently and respond to emergencies.
  • Strong documentation and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficient in using computer systems and software.
  • Ability to travel for professional development and training.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires prolonged periods of sitting, as well as some bending, lifting, and manual dexterity to operate office equipment. Employees must have normal hearing and vision capabilities.
