Dental Assistant Job Summary

Comprehensive Community Health Centers Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental team in delivering high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist patients in resolving minor difficulties and answer their questions in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Provide chair-side assistance to the dentist during patient treatments.
  • Prepare operatory for patient treatment according to established protocols and the dentist's directions.
  • Expose and develop dental radiographs in accordance with state regulations and Dental Department directives.
  • Perform independent procedures as delegated and directed by the dentist, in accordance with state regulations and Dental Department directives.
  • Maintain Dental Department equipment according to manufacturer's instructions and Dental Department policies.
  • Maintain all Dental Department areas in compliance with Dental Department directives, protocols, and center policies and procedures relative to infection control, exposure control, and safety issues.
  • Maintain adequate operatory supplies and compile a list of individual item shortages for inventory control and ordering purposes.
  • Maintain a list of all Dental Department patients, monitor patient flow, and assist the Dental director and dentist in ensuring that all patient records and documents are properly and accurately completed and filed.
  • Receive and place necessary telephone calls consistent with professional matters, clinic business, and patient of the dental department.
  • Ensure the sterility of all reusable dental instruments and equipment according to Dental Department directives and protocols.
  • Ensure the proper disposal of all contaminated or potentially contaminated materials according to Dental Department directives, center policies, and state and federal regulations.
  • Participate in appropriate health promotion/disease prevention activities, both on-site and off-site as required.
  • Perform other related and/or necessary tasks as directed by a supervisor to achieve organizational and programmatic goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED certification.
  • At least one year of experience in a dental office setting.
  • Certified Dental Assistant preferred.
  • Radiation Safety certification required.
  • Coronal polishing certification.
  • Able to travel between clinics as required.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
