Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to oversee significant capital improvement initiatives at our manufacturing plants. The ideal candidate will possess a robust technical background, a proven track record in project management, and a proactive approach to tackling diverse responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive engineering evaluations, prepare cost assessments, and define design specifications for capital construction projects valued up to $10 million.
  • Ensure the effective delivery of engineering and construction services across our manufacturing sites, engaging daily with contractors and suppliers.
  • Collaborate closely with plant leadership and corporate teams to develop project scopes, design processes, and manage contractor selection and equipment procurement.
  • Adhere to Darigold's construction standards, ensuring compliance throughout all project phases.
  • Lead project teams composed of Darigold personnel and external contractors, managing multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Monitor project timelines and budget adherence, utilizing tools such as Microsoft Project for schedule management and budget tracking.
  • Coordinate with various departments including Environmental, Safety, Production, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Accounting to ensure project alignment.
  • Assist in the formulation of the annual capital budget in collaboration with plant management.
  • Support operations across multiple facilities as required.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of project management experience in food manufacturing, with at least 5 years in dairy processing.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, utility systems, and automation in production.
  • Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs and utilizing data for problem-solving.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Expertise in engineering principles related to heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and system design.
  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills, capable of managing shifting priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certification.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
