  • JOB SUMMARY: The Commercial Manager is tasked with receiving requests for proposals and is responsible for generating precise and comprehensive estimates for projects of various sizes and complexities.
This role involves identifying labor, materials, and project scope for each proposal. Collaboration with fellow estimators, engineers, purchasing, and other departments is essential to ensure accurate calculations. We seek a self-driven individual with a disciplined approach, outstanding numerical and analytical capabilities, and proficiency in computer applications.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain and nurture client relationships to secure ongoing business opportunities.
Develop proposals that accurately represent the project scope, including relevant clarifications and exclusions for each bid.
Engage with customers to clarify their requests for proposals. Review customer specifications and determine the project scope.
Design building layouts using AutoCAD, incorporating single-line and equipment drawings.

Define costs related to engineering, production labor, materials, services, equipment, and code requirements to develop proposals for clients.

Collaborate with vendors to obtain pricing for quotes. Conduct internal reviews with various departments based on project complexity. Prepare and submit proposals to clients. Confirm final pricing with relevant divisional personnel.

Maintain databases (SharePoint and Excel) to support data collection for estimates, continually updating material and labor costs.

Conduct peer reviews and assist with inquiries. Implement commercial risk management processes. Collaborate with Operations during project handoff meetings to provide essential information and feedback for project planning.
Utilize resources effectively to devise solutions and take initiative in problem resolution. Assist Outside Sales and other departments with customer requests.
Input and finalize orders in the ERP system.

REQUIREMENTS:


A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred, or any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties (required). 2-4 years of estimating experience is preferred. Understanding of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing.

A solid background in mathematical drafting and plan interpretation.
Experience managing multiple projects of varying sizes and complexities simultaneously.
Attention to detail and the ability to identify and rectify discrepancies.
Proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office products. Experience with AutoCAD is preferred.
Familiarity with SharePoint, Excel, and ERP systems. Effective verbal and written communication skills in both formal and informal presentation settings. Knowledge of job site safety and a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
