Key Responsibilities
The Project Engineer will play a vital role in enhancing Darigold's production capabilities through effective management of capital projects. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive engineering evaluations, preparing cost assessments, and defining design specifications for capital construction projects valued up to $10 million.
  • Facilitating the delivery of engineering and construction services across Darigold's facilities, with a strong emphasis on hands-on engagement with contractors and vendors.
  • Collaborating closely with plant leadership and corporate teams to establish project scopes, design processes, and manage contractor selection and equipment procurement.
  • Ensuring adherence to Darigold's construction standards throughout all project phases.
  • Leading project teams comprised of Darigold personnel and external contractors, while managing multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Monitoring project timelines and budget adherence, utilizing tools such as Microsoft Project for schedule management and budget tracking.
  • Coordinating with various departments, including Environmental, Safety, Production, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Accounting.
  • Assisting in the formulation of the annual capital budget in collaboration with plant management.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 10 years of project management experience in food manufacturing, with at least 5 years in dairy processing.
  • A strong grasp of manufacturing processes, utility systems, and automation applications.
  • Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs and utilizing data for problem-solving.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Solid engineering and analytical skills in areas such as heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and system design.
  • Exceptional planning and organizational abilities, capable of handling multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following credentials are advantageous:

  • PMP certification
  • PE License
