Position Summary

As the Lead Facilities Engineer, you will be crucial in maintaining the safety, functionality, and visual appeal of our hotel. Your role encompasses not only routine upkeep but also strategic planning and collaboration with various departments to uphold superior standards in facility management. This position reports directly to the General Manager.

Daily Responsibilities

Your daily tasks will include the following:

  1. Core Responsibilities
    • Warmly and professionally greet all guests, ensuring exceptional service.
    • Oversee the maintenance and repair of all hotel facilities, including guest rooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces to guarantee guest satisfaction and prevent recurring issues.
    • Implement preventive maintenance strategies such as property inspections and scheduled room maintenance to extend the lifespan of equipment and systems.
    • Exhibit expertise and meticulous attention to detail in tasks such as painting, drywall repair, carpet restoration, and furniture maintenance.
    • Maintain, organize, and stock maintenance closets and carts, contributing to an efficient workspace where every item is accounted for.
    • Respect guest privacy and belongings with a high level of integrity.
    • Respond promptly to escalated guest complaints and urgent maintenance issues.
  2. Job Duties
    • Monitor guest satisfaction through feedback and surveys.
    • Conduct regular inspections and safety training to ensure maintenance work meets or exceeds quality standards.
    • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment status using the hotel management system.
    • Provide training and guidance to the team to ensure consistency in maintenance practices and safety protocols.
    • Collaborate with team members to gather information on maintenance issues and develop solutions to prevent future occurrences.
    • Identify cost-saving measures without compromising service quality.
  3. Supervisory Duties
    • Coordinate and oversee all department operations, ensuring quality service and efficiency within the established budget.
    • Work with management to develop and manage the maintenance budget.
    • Maintain inventory, purchase supplies, and coordinate services from external vendors.
    • Recruit, interview, hire, and train new maintenance staff.
    • Oversee daily operations and scheduling of the maintenance department.
    • Evaluate the performance of direct reports and provide constructive feedback.
    • Handle disciplinary actions and terminations in accordance with company policy.

Performance Evaluation

  • Guest service scores related to hotel and room quality and maintenance services.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Certifications such as HVAC or CPO preferred.
  • Availability for morning shifts.
  • Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
  • On-call availability for emergency situations.
