Construction Materials Testing Department Lead

Geotech Engineering and Testing (GET) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Materials Testing Department Manager to lead our dedicated team of technicians.

As the leader of this department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of construction materials used in various projects across diverse sectors. Your expertise will be instrumental in providing technical guidance, managing testing procedures, and delivering accurate results to both public and private clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Supervision: Oversee and manage a team of skilled technicians responsible for conducting comprehensive testing on soils, concrete, asphalt, and steel.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide expert guidance on construction materials testing procedures, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
  • Client Relations: Cultivate strong relationships with clients, addressing their inquiries, providing technical support, and delivering clear and concise reports.
  • Project Management: Effectively manage projects, including proposal writing, scheduling, resource allocation, and budget oversight.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results. Review field and laboratory data, ensuring compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) for the state of Texas or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • Proven experience in construction materials testing, with a strong understanding of relevant industry standards and codes.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
