We achieve this by offering a comprehensive array of medical services from a unified physician group within their communities. With interconnected doctors, nurses, specialists, laboratories, and medical records, patient care has never been more coordinated.

Position Overview:

The Healthcare Services Coordinator plays a crucial role in the front office of OnPoint Medical Group's clinics. This role involves welcoming patients, managing phone inquiries promptly, activating patient files, and guiding patients through a structured protocol to ensure a seamless visit with our healthcare providers. Exceptional customer service is essential, as this position often represents the first point of contact for patients with OnPoint Medical Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Greet incoming patients in person or via phone in a courteous and professional manner.
  2. Conduct pre-visit preparations, including contacting patients for updated insurance information, verifying insurance, and updating patient records.
  3. Register new patients and confirm the accuracy of information for existing patients.
  4. Collect co-pays and payments as necessary.
  5. Manage inbound calls to schedule patient appointments and serve as a liaison to clinical staff for patient inquiries.
  6. Perform administrative tasks to ensure a smooth patient visit, timely billing processing, and an organized front office environment.
  7. Make outbound calls to patients for appointment scheduling.
  8. Strive to meet or exceed established service standards.
  9. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  10. Exhibit punctuality and regular attendance as a fundamental responsibility at OnPoint Medical Group.
  11. Follow instructions and respond to management guidance.
  12. Collaborate effectively in a team while completing assigned tasks independently.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, an individual must be capable of performing each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for this position. Minimum Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient computer skills are required.

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Some college education with a focus on medical, business, or accounting.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a business office or clinical setting.
  • Bilingual abilities.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems, preferably Athenahealth practice management.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Job Elements and Working Conditions:

  • While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to manipulate objects, reach with hands and arms, and communicate verbally.
  • Occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
