Job Overview

MBN Engineering, Inc. is experiencing growth and is looking for qualified candidates for the role of Mechanical Design Engineer. This position involves working closely with a licensed professional engineer to gain essential experience and knowledge necessary for becoming a successful Licensed Mechanical Engineer.

As a firm specializing in consulting services for architects and developers, MBN Engineering, Inc. offers expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, and Transmission engineering. Our projects encompass a variety of facilities, including sports complexes, recreational areas, educational institutions, and commercial establishments for both public and private sectors. Established in 2007, we have a rich history of over 100 years of combined experience and are licensed in 33 states.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and specification of mechanical systems for construction projects, including:
    • Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC)
    • Plumbing systems
    • Fire protection systems
  • Collaborating with other professionals within the design team
  • Participating in construction administration activities, which include:
    • Reviewing shop drawings
    • Assessing pay requests
    • Attending construction meetings
    • Conducting construction observations and generating reports

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years in a related field
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire
  • Progressing towards a Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Willingness to work on-site
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and BlueBeam is advantageous
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor
  • Commitment to producing high-quality work while adhering to ethical standards
  • Able to manage multiple projects and timelines effectively
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Compliance with federal law mandates verification of identity and eligibility to work in the United States
  • MBN Engineering, Inc. does not sponsor employment visas
  • Relocation expenses are not covered

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Standard work hours are 8 AM to 5 PM, totaling 40 hours per week, with flexibility based on project deadlines
  • Summer hours (from Memorial Day to Labor Day) are Monday to Thursday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM and Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience, typically ranging from $60,000 to $70,000
