The Hydraulic Test Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and executing tests for both newly developed and existing hydraulic products. This role involves translating technical directives from supervisors and design teams into actionable data relevant to specific engineering tasks. Additionally, the engineer will oversee the efforts of contract staff, interns, and technicians in data collection and testing activities.
*Key Responsibilities*
Hydraulic Testing Duties:
- Collaborate with current staff and industry specialists to enhance skills in hydraulic testing, data collection, and analysis.
- Set up test instrumentation and configure data acquisition systems tailored for specific testing requirements.
- Assess the performance, longevity, and reliability of hydraulic components and systems across all equipment.
- Conduct comprehensive field tests by operating various equipment.
- Analyze hydraulic schematics, testing standards, and other technical documents to support testing processes.
- Perform laboratory endurance tests on hydraulic components.
- Analyze data and provide technical guidance on hydraulic testing procedures.
- Prepare technical documentation and reports summarizing test results.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Conduct structural fatigue life assessments using internal prediction methodologies.
- Perform laboratory fatigue tests on components, utilizing damage comparison tools.
- Evaluate product specifications and performance for marketing and sales purposes.
- Prepare and continuously review products for durability assessments at testing facilities.
- Conduct cooling performance evaluations.
- Coordinate testing efforts and maintain communication with product design engineers.
- Offer recommendations regarding product design, materials, or specifications based on test outcomes and sound engineering principles.
- Collaborate with external testing laboratories.
*Qualifications*
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (General, Mechanical, Agricultural)
- Experience: 0-2+ years in a relevant field
- Travel: Some travel may be required
- Strong practical mechanical and engineering skills with a readiness to apply them.
- Experience in the operation, repair, and maintenance of equipment.
- Familiarity with testing and validation methodologies is preferred.
- Understanding of the principles and design of company products.
- Commitment to promoting a safe working environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Able to work effectively within a team.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
