This role requires in-office presence four days a week, with the flexibility to work from home one day per week.


Role Purpose:


The Senior Financial Systems Analyst is primarily responsible for delivering both functional and technical support for multiple financial applications, including but not limited to Blackline, SAP ECC, SAP S/4, BPC/EPM, and other finance-related initiatives.

The Analyst serves as the main point of contact between the Accounting/Finance department and IT.

Additionally, the Analyst will possess a comprehensive understanding of the IT project lifecycle and the context of projects within the Accounting department and the organization as a whole.


Key Responsibilities:

Act as System Administrator for the Blackline application, overseeing administration and providing user training for Account reconciliations, Matching, Journal entries, and Variance Analysis modules.

Support the daily administration of Business Planning & Consolidation (BPC), including balancing, new user setup, report development, and general troubleshooting.

Provide both functional and technical support to user groups of various financial systems, primarily BPC/EPM, addressing issues such as system configuration, ongoing maintenance, system issues, and reporting.

Follow established change control processes and prepare related documentation, including Change Requests, Requirements Definition Documents, and other audit-related materials.

Analyze and troubleshoot interfaces, software bugs, reports, and software customizations using delivered application tools or other applicable tools.

Assist in conducting initial system testing and user acceptance testing for application fixes and project initiatives.
Ensure that high-level financial reports accurately reflect the company's position and comply with GAAP and SOX requirements.
Assist in preparing schedules and reports in support of annual and interim audits, ensuring all schedules are adequately documented.

Continuously enhance skills in automation products by actively seeking out and participating in user groups, webinars, automation training, and certifications.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications: A foundational understanding of basic accounting principles, including a solid working knowledge of GAAP.
Proficiency in Microsoft tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
Aptitude and eagerness to learn new accounting systems.
Effective work paper documentation techniques.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Commitment to providing a high level of service to business partners.
Ownership of all assigned responsibilities.
Encouragement of feedback and appropriate escalation of issues/conflicts to management.
Ability to adhere to project schedules, manage time efficiently, and handle competing priorities.
Capability to multitask during monthly close processes.
Adaptability and contribution to organizational change in a dynamic environment.
Strong relationship-building skills with business partners.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or a related field from an accredited institution.

1-2 years of relevant experience in system administration, accounting, and/or reporting, with relevant month-end close experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience as a Blackline Administrator.
