Position Overview

NOVA Engineering is looking for a dedicated Inspector with GDOT Certifications & CEI Experience to join our Transportation Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough verification of materials testing and documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Provide engineering and construction management support across various transportation projects, including roads, bridges, and greenways.
  • Perform field testing on soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and masonry mortar/grout to meet ASTM, AASHTO, DOT, and project specifications.
  • Review construction blueprints to prepare for field observations.
  • Document field activities, observations, and testing results, noting any deviations from project plans and specifications.
  • Utilize Metafield and other information management systems for accurate recording of testing results.
  • Communicate testing results effectively with Construction Services and Geotechnical Project Management teams, as well as with general contractors and clients.
  • Ensure calibration of field and laboratory equipment in accordance with industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction testing and inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials.
  • GDOT Certifications and CEI Experience are mandatory.
  • Physical ability to lift 40 to 50 lbs. for field and laboratory samples and equipment.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, with appropriate personal protective equipment provided by the company.
  • Capability to operate equipment on uneven terrain and around active construction sites.
  • Availability for occasional travel for short-term assignments.
