About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Inspector/Engineering Technician to join our team at NOVA Engineering. As a key member of our Construction Materials Testing team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of construction materials used in airport projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Field Testing: Conduct field testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and masonry mortar/grout to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Blueprint Review: Review blueprints to prepare for field observations on construction sites.
  • Documentation: Document field activities, observations, and testing results on construction projects, and their conformance with (or deviation from) project plans and specifications.
  • Communication: Communicate field and laboratory testing results with Construction Services and Geotechnical Project Management staff, general contractors, and clients.
  • Equipment Calibration: Calibrate field and laboratory equipment to industry codes and standards.
Requirements
  • Density Testing: Experience with density testing and asphalt pavement testing in both the field and laboratory for airports is required.
  • ACI Certification: ACI certification and/or ICC (Soils, Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, etc) is a plus.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to routinely lift 40 to 50 lbs. (field/laboratory samples and equipment) is required.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel out-of-town (typically overnight) for short duration assignments within the state of Georgia working on smaller airports.
