Position Overview

NOVA Engineering is currently seeking a full-time Inspector with GDOT Certifications & CEI Experience to join our Transportation Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct verification of materials testing and documentation, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Provide engineering and construction management support for various transportation projects, including roads, bridges, and greenways.
  • Perform field testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and masonry mortar/grout to ensure adherence to ASTM, AASHTO, DOT, and project specifications.
  • Review blueprints and prepare for field observations on construction sites.
  • Document field activities, observations, and testing results, noting any deviations from project plans and specifications.
  • Utilize Metafield and other information management systems for recording testing results.
  • Communicate testing results with Construction Services and Geotechnical Project Management teams, general contractors, and clients.
  • Calibrate field and laboratory equipment in accordance with industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction testing and inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials is required.
  • GDOT Certifications and CEI Experience are mandatory.
  • Ability to lift 40 to 50 lbs. regularly (including field/laboratory samples and equipment).
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (Personal Protective Equipment and inclement weather gear will be provided).
  • Capability to operate equipment on uneven terrain and around active construction sites.
  • Readiness to travel for short-duration assignments, typically requiring overnight stays.
