Job Description

Job Title: Structural Designer - EIT

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Structural Designer - EIT to join our team at Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC. As a key member of our design team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that infrastructure designs meet technical and safety standards, budget, and timeline constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and design structural components for bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and other transportation-related structural systems.
  • Deliver technical solutions to clients through contract documents such as construction plans, design calculations, and project specifications.
  • Perform structural design utilizing AASHTO and other applicable design specifications as well as state and local design requirements.
  • Manage tasks, perform seismic design, bridge/culvert inspection, load rating, review and approval of construction submittals, quality control, and communication with clients.

Requirements:

  • High level of attention to detail is required.
  • Experience with Design-Bid-Build projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of GDOT Design Practices.
  • Must be a US Citizen or have a Green Card.
  • Must complete a pre-employment screening; ICE is a drug-free workplace.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • BS in civil engineering required; MS desired.
  • EIT in Georgia required or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • 0-4 years of experience with transportation projects desired.
  • Experience with computer programs such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, ProjectWise, Open Roads, or similar programs.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to work in a sedentary position for up to eight hours per day.
  • Must have visual acuity to recognize/change/add precise details on CAD drawings.
  • When performing field work, the employee may be required to drive, lift heavy objects, walk excessively, bend, reach, point, or direct others to move objects or materials.
