Job Title: Buyer Planner

Columbia Search Partners is seeking a highly motivated Buyer/Planner to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain, from sourcing raw materials to delivering finished products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procurement Management: Source and procure materials, components, and services required for production, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and manage stock to prevent shortages or excesses, optimizing storage space and reducing costs.
  • Supplier Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to secure the best possible outcomes for the company.
  • Production Planning: Develop and implement production schedules that align with customer demand and company objectives, coordinating with various departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Cost Optimization: Analyze purchasing trends and market conditions to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize data to track performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering, quality, and logistics teams to address any issues that arise and ensure the timely delivery of products.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in procurement, buying, or planning within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with a proven track record of building strong supplier relationships.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Detail-oriented, with exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
