Job Title: Senior Procurement Specialist

Starting Salary: $75,000

Job Overview:

We are in search of a proficient and seasoned Senior Procurement Specialist to enhance our operations. This position entails overseeing the processes associated with acquiring goods and services, nurturing supplier partnerships, and guaranteeing that inventory levels, cost management, quality assurance, and timely deliveries are upheld to meet our production requirements.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Material Coordination and Scheduling: Analyze various MRP reports to schedule raw materials, liaise with suppliers for delivery, and provide accurate specifications, blueprints, and shipping directives.
  • Supplier Evaluation and Quality Control: Assess suppliers based on established company criteria, maintain and update quality documentation in line with supplier evaluations, specifications, and quotation packages.
  • Management of Defective Materials: Engage in MRB group activities, oversee purchasing systems for defective and non-conforming materials, determine material disposition, and communicate with suppliers for resolution.
  • Source Identification: Identify optimal supply sources based on cost, quantity, service, and reliability. May conduct visits to vendor locations to establish suitable supply sources and manage urgent orders.
  • Client Relationship Management: Oversee client relationships, including processing orders and ensuring adherence to delivery timelines.
  • Efficiency Assessment: Conduct analyses to pinpoint potential savings or efficiency improvements, develop cost-effective order quantities, and maintain inventory levels to meet demand while preventing obsolescence.
  • Meeting Engagement: Participate in meetings with clients and suppliers, effectively convey our perspective, and coordinate logistics for shipments.
  • Reporting and Presentations: Generate reports and presentations to implement necessary changes in accordance with company policies.
  • Departmental Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert within the Supply Chain Department and may oversee clerical support activities or make decisions in the absence of management as required.
  • Travel Requirements: Travel to suppliers as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.

Skills and Technical Proficiencies:

  • Proficient understanding of MRP and ISO standards.
  • Competence in standard PC software, including Microsoft Office.
  • Aptitude for applying basic algebra and geometry for calculations related to discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer needs and sensitivity to both external and internal requirements.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from an accredited four-year institution or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
