Position Overview
The Clinical Donation Coordinator RN plays a crucial role in assessing and managing potential organ donors, ensuring compliance with ConnectLife's policies during the donation process.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve on a 24-hour call rotation as part of the organ procurement team.
- Assess referrals for organ donation potential in cases of imminent death.
- Oversee on-site activities related to donor management, authorization, and organ recovery at hospitals.
- Adhere to donor management protocols to optimize donor potential, collaborating with medical professionals as necessary.
- Educate hospital staff on the organ donation process to foster understanding and cooperation.
- Facilitate communication with potential donor families and assist in the authorization process.
- Ensure all medical and legal requirements are fulfilled prior to donor surgery.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and ConnectLife policies throughout the organ recovery process.
- Keep accurate donor records to meet compliance requirements.
- Conduct follow-up on donor lab work and other necessary evaluations.
- Provide feedback to hospitals and donor families as needed.
- Engage in Hospital Development initiatives and Medical Record Reviews as required.
- Stay informed about advancements in organ donation and allocation practices.
- Maintain necessary certifications and education relevant to the role.
Qualifications
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse individuals.

- Familiarity with medical terminology is essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and data entry is required.

- Possession of a valid NYS Driver's license and reliable transportation is necessary.
- Local travel may be required.
