Phoenix, Arizona, United States Azimuth Partners Full time

About Azimuth Partners:

Azimuth Partners is an innovative startup dedicated to revolutionizing the compute marketplace. We empower users to make informed choices about their computing resources while maintaining trust and usability. Our approach contrasts with the conventional cloud provider model by directly connecting independent data centers and compute service providers with end users. Our diverse range of providers and hardware configurations sets us apart in the industry, presenting both challenges and exciting opportunities for learning and innovation.

Our Vision:

At Azimuth Partners, we prioritize a people-oriented, mission-driven, and remote-friendly work culture. We value results over titles and believe in fostering individual freedom, self-expression, and a culture of diverse thought that promotes significant human advancement.

Position Overview:

We are in the process of developing a groundbreaking bare-metal management and marketplace platform designed to help independent data centers optimize their inventory monetization. With over two dozen data centers integrated and rapid expansion underway, we aim to disrupt the traditional cloud computing landscape. This role offers the chance to engage with high-performance computing systems that are in high demand, along with a wide variety of data center architectures, servers, and OEMs that will significantly enhance your professional experience.

We are looking for a skilled Infrastructure Solutions Engineer to join our technology team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our infrastructure and systems to ensure scalable and reliable operations. You will collaborate closely with our senior infrastructure team to integrate and manage multiple data centers and bare-metal inventory while supporting automation and product development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and integrate Azimuth's platform software with new data centers and onboarded servers.
  • Oversee the integrated data center and inventory, addressing L2 and L3 requests and alerts, while enhancing monitoring and supporting infrastructure.
  • Monitor system performance and uptime, ensuring optimal availability of systems and infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with vendors and IT personnel for effective problem resolution.
  • Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Implement security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
  • Create and maintain custom scripts to enhance system efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Contribute to the design of information and operational support systems.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience is acceptable.
  • Demonstrated experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux-based environments.
  • Strong background in administering and optimizing application stacks (e.g., Apache, MySQL, NGINX).
  • Familiarity with virtualization and containerization technologies (e.g., QEMU/KVM, Docker).
  • Experience with monitoring systems (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix).
  • Proficiency in automation tools (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Ansible).
  • Strong scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python).
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (OSI model, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Linux Certifications, Cisco Certified Network Associate - CCNA, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer - MCSE) are advantageous.
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure) is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to work under pressure are essential.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to collaboration are required.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
  • Flexible working hours and opportunities for remote work.
  • A supportive team environment emphasizing learning and growth.
  • Access to cutting-edge technology and tools.
