POSITION:
Intake Specialist
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Intake Specialist will work under the supervision of the Program Manager.
This role is pivotal in achieving outreach and intake objectives for Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) Programs and Summer Youth Programs.
The specialist will engage in comprehensive outreach activities to attract new clients to the Youth Center. During the orientation and registration phases, the specialist will assist clients by clarifying program eligibility and guidelines.Conducting thorough assessments in line with program standards and goals is essential.
The Intake Specialist will also establish and maintain a Management Information System (MIS) customer database, ensuring all eligibility documentation and necessary information are organized to comply with program requirements.Additionally, the specialist will coordinate and take part in recruitment events, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the registration, orientation, assessment, and follow-up processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in direct customer interaction, community outreach, and collaboration with business sectors is required. A professional demeanor, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in a second language are advantageous.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have a reliable vehicle with insurance and a valid California Driver's License. A criminal background check and drug screening are prerequisites for employment. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster is also required.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
A Bachelor’s degree along with one (1) year of relevant professional experience, or a combination of education and three (3) years of experience in assessment, outreach, recruitment, MIS, career counseling, placement, and related fields is necessary.
