Position Overview:
Join our dedicated team as a Patient Care Technician in a dynamic 17-bed unit. This role serves as a vital stepping stone into the nursing profession, where prior healthcare exposure is advantageous. You will be responsible for monitoring vital signs, performing EKGs, assisting with splinting, aiding with activities of daily living (ADLs), supporting patient mobility, and providing companionship in behavioral health settings.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Patient Care Technician, you will:
  • Work night shifts (2x12 hours from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM).
  • Participate in an every-other-weekend rotation and holiday rotation, with no on-call duties.
  • Be flexible with your schedule to accommodate educational commitments.

Compensation:
Shift differentials are available:
- $1.50 for evening shifts (3 PM - 11 PM)
- $2.00 for night shifts (11 PM - 7 AM)
- $1.00 for weekend shifts on top of the base rate.

Patient Care Duties:
Under the supervision of a registered nurse, you will:
  • Welcome and assist patients and visitors, ensuring a friendly and caring environment.
  • Deliver patient care tailored to individual needs and age-specific standards.
  • Collect blood samples and process specimens as required.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-equipped work environment.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or related vocational training is required.
  • Preferred: 1 year of healthcare experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • Preferred certifications include EMT, CNA, or PCT.
