  • The Respiratory Tech is responsible for delivering respiratory therapy interventions, executing procedures, and conducting assessments. This includes floor therapy, administering oxygen, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and executing fundamental pulmonary function tests. The role involves working across various departments within the healthcare facility as assigned by the supervisor. The technician is expected to evaluate and document patient responses to therapy effectively.
  • Qualifications
  • Educational Background
  • Required: Currently enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Care Program, successfully completed a Pharmacology Course, and finished one clinical semester focused on respiratory medications and therapeutic techniques.
  • Preferred: Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
  • Professional Experience
  • No prior experience is necessary for this position.
  • Essential Skills
  • Ability to provide care tailored to the age of the patient population served.
  • Competent in safely administering all standard and emergency respiratory treatments.
  • Capable of assessing patients and delivering care according to established protocols.
  • Ensures accurate and timely electronic documentation of patient care.
  • Provides precise and relevant education to patients, students, and new staff members.
  • Licensure and Certification
  • Required: Must secure Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Required: Must obtain the MBRC Education Permit.
