Our Forensic Practice

Our Forensic division specializes in investigating issues within the built environment, delivering evidence-based solutions grounded in rigorous scientific analysis. We partner with attorneys, property managers, building owners, contractors, manufacturers, and design professionals to address a diverse array of engineering and architectural challenges.

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Senior Geotechnical Project Engineer with a focus on geotechnical forensic investigations, litigation support, risk loss consulting, and repair design. This role involves conducting geotechnical assessments of existing structures and devising remedial solutions for identified deficiencies. Responsibilities include failure analysis, life cycle cost evaluations, risk loss insurance assessments, and providing litigation support. The successful candidate will guide junior staff, collaborate with project managers on interdisciplinary projects, assist in marketing initiatives, and foster client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site inspections and investigations, including documentation of observations through photography and sketches.
  • Research the historical context of various structures, technical challenges, and relevant code issues.
  • Organize field data to facilitate thorough analysis and problem resolution.
  • Perform comprehensive geotechnical analyses and design rehabilitation solutions.
  • Assist in damage assessments and investigations into causes and origins.
  • Prepare detailed field notes, feasibility studies, cost analyses, and specifications.
  • Engage with clients to ascertain project requirements.
  • Draft technical and investigative reports to substantiate forensic findings and prepare presentation materials.
  • Oversee and mentor other members of the design team.
  • Conduct peer reviews and condition assessments, including preliminary cost estimates.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
  • Professional Engineer license is mandatory.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit is advantageous.
