Key Responsibilities:

The Regional Sales Executive will be accountable for promoting and selling DEMDACO product lines at the retail level. This role involves identifying potential clients, qualifying leads, executing sales strategies, and maintaining relationships with retail partners whose needs align with our offerings.

  • Meet and exceed territory revenue targets as set by the company and/or Regional Sales Manager (RSM).
  • Maintain standard business hours, typically from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend commitments.
  • Achieve minimum performance benchmarks, including attending eight in-person sales meetings weekly, processing ten orders with distinct retailers each week, and establishing new accounts as per specified objectives.
  • Promote the entire DEMDACO product range, with specific revenue targets for both Willow Tree and Portfolio.
  • Conduct account planning and forecasting within the assigned sales territory.
  • Communicate effectively and consistently with customers, RSM, and internal teams regarding sales and marketing matters.
  • Provide weekly written reports to the RSM detailing successes, challenges, and opportunities within the territory.
  • Make fair and equitable decisions regarding account management and distribution.
  • Systematically cover the entire assigned territory by visiting retailers across all areas.
  • Utilize technology tools effectively, including Sales Force Automation Systems, EMUN, Concur, Web-Based Data Presentation Systems, Customer POS Systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Participate in relevant trade shows and national meetings as directed by the RSM or Director of Sales.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Experience in the gift industry managing a sales territory.
  • Proven outside sales experience in a business-to-business environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the sales process, including:
    • Needs assessment
    • Qualifying accounts and decision-makers
    • Contracting for mutual understanding and actionable plans
    • Developing innovative solutions to meet customer needs
    • Creative presentation skills
    • Providing follow-up and service
  • Familiarity with selling best practices.
  • Experience with independent retail and regional key accounts.
  • Strong decision-making abilities.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Retail Gift Trade.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Aptitude for learning and utilizing additional technology tools, such as Sales Force Automation Systems and Business Intelligence Tools.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple high-priority objectives and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to follow instructions and execute directives effectively.

Work Environment:

Physical Demands:

Some lifting and carrying of materials, including catalogs and samples, may be required during sales activities. Occasional setup for meetings or displays may involve moving furniture and display items. Travel for customer visits, trade shows, and other sales-related activities is expected.
