Acosta Sales & Marketing is looking for a committed Fresh Merchandise Operations Expert to work in close partnership with key retailers, driving optimal sales and profitability while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Training and Development: Design and execute thorough training programs for retail teams, concentrating on fresh food operations, which include food safety, quality control, and merchandising excellence.

Performance Management: Assess and oversee the performance of retail teams in executing fresh food operations, providing constructive coaching and feedback to foster continuous improvement.

Embrace Technology: Leverage digital tools and platforms to enhance operational efficiency. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Teams, and data analysis tools is essential for success in this role.

Reskilling for Success: Stay informed about industry trends and innovations in fresh categories, continuously refining skills to remain competitive in the dynamic retail environment.

Compliance: Ensure rigorous adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements regarding food safety certification and sanitation practices across all fresh food operations.

Influencer: Utilize your exceptional influencing abilities to align with both existing and new standards and policies, promoting agility and adaptability among retail teams.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance fresh food operations processes, collaborating closely with retail teams and management to implement strategic changes that boost efficiency and profitability.

Communication: Maintain clear communication with retail managers and stakeholders, providing regular updates on training initiatives, performance metrics, and relevant operational matters.

Documentation: Keep accurate records of all training activities, including attendance, performance evaluations, and feedback, ensuring thoroughness and precision.

Travel: Exhibit flexibility and readiness to travel to various retail locations to deliver training sessions and provide on-site support to retail teams.

Collaboration: Work collaboratively with fellow trainers and retail personnel to ensure consistency in training methodologies and operational standards across markets.

Member Focus: Advocate for the delivery of fresh food operations that consistently meet or exceed customer expectations for quality, freshness, and overall satisfaction.

Team Leadership: Lead by example, demonstrating a strong commitment to excellence in fresh food operations while fostering a positive and inclusive team culture among retail teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in retail fresh food sectors (such as Meat & Seafood, Produce, Bakery, or Prepared Foods), restaurant, bakery, meat processing, quality assurance, or a related field.

- Proven success with 3 to 5 years of supervisory/management experience, showcasing leadership skills and a track record of driving results.

- Excellent communication abilities, along with a talent for influencing and supporting senior leaders in implementing best practices.

- Demonstrated excellence in a fresh food retail environment, with a solid understanding of department financial objectives.

- Adaptability and resilience in response to workplace changes, with a proactive approach to embracing innovation and continuous improvement.

- Strong presentation skills, facilitating effective communication with diverse audiences, and proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

- Comfortable using digital platforms such as Teams and Zoom.

- Valid driver's license and insurance for travel requirements.
